Esther Tan

As Head of Partners at DesignSingapore Council, the national agency for design, Esther works with corporates and public sector organisations to strengthen the adoption of design as a strategic capability for innovation and transformation. Through partnerships and initiatives, she seeks to demonstrate how design can help organisations better understand and respond to people’s needs, unlock new possibilities, and create value for businesses and society.

Her work sits at the intersection of design, business and public sector strategy, with a particular interest in how human-centred design can help organisations navigate complexity and translate new technologies and ideas into experiences and solutions that work well for people.

With a background in service design, strategy and design leadership, Esther has led multidisciplinary teams and worked across the public and private sectors. She believes that design, grounded in a deep understanding of user needs, can help organisations navigate increasingly complex and fast-evolving environments, harness technology and innovation effectively, and create experiences and services that are intuitive, inclusive and genuinely useful for people and society.
