Ng Choon Hwee has been a dedicated contributor to Singpass Accessibility Testing since 2021, playing a key role in improving the app’s usability for visually impaired users. His consistent feedback, including reporting screen reader bugs and unlabelled buttons, has led to crucial fixes, such as making Face Verification more accessible and improving the VoiceOver feature. Choon Hwee’s insights have been instrumental in making Singpass more inclusive for over 1,800 visually impaired users annually.
Beyond technical contributions, Choon Hwee connected the team to the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, fostering greater collaboration. His commitment has made him a trusted voice in testing, helping ensure that accessibility is embedded from the start of development. His ongoing involvement and passion for inclusive design have earned him the role of primary accessibility persona for the Singpass team.
Through his volunteer work, Choon Hwee exemplifies the principles of empathy and collaboration, advocating for universal access and shaping better digital services for all.
